Thanked: 174Yes, a nice looking razor I agree. I have a PUMA of the same vintage and I like it very much. It is a top quality razor without doubt.
The steel holds a great edge and it is a very smooth and a well finished razor. I do not think the steel is as good as a good Sheffield steel or as smooth a shave, but is very good.
As to price, well that's a different thing all together. $200 would be topside for me. I always remind myself that you can get the same shave quality from a $50 razor or a new DOVO with a look a like tortoiseshell handle. At the $200 level we are talking of Bergisher Lowe quality and the PUMA is good but.........So unless you are a collector, I wouldn't let the NAME fool you, its just a good razor.
Granted, they have a well deserved reputation and good ones are hard to find now days.
Just my take on the item.

Hmmmmm Sounds Like somebody has a horse in this race
We were looking at this one the other night hanging out in the chat room....
My guess is going to be.... $302
I have seen these High Class Puma's go well into the $400's on several occasions and this one is a looker...
This is one time I have to disagree with the "English" I think the Puma's give a way better shave then any new Dovo.. I also think this is why there were so many different grinds, types, and brands, out there, so everyone could get exactly what felt the best on their face
And no I am not sniping, on this one....Last edited by gssixgun; 01-11-2009 at 11:18 PM.

Thanked: 174No Sir, it was too rich for my blood at the $170 when I looked. The point I was trying to make is that it is big bucks just for a shave.
I think my PUMA is special and love it to bits. I will never sell it which says it all really. I'm just astonished at the prices razors will sell for.
Best, English.

well, the same seller also has a duck with celluloid rot. i'd be a bit nervous paying lots of money for the puma. of course you never know how any given razor has been stored, but in this case we know it has been exposed to rotten one.
