Default A Kinfolks WEDGE! I won! I won!

    eBay item# 330300855421. It's mine

I would like to thank all of you for letting me steal this one for less than half my max bid... I REALLY like the last Kinfolks Top-Notch I got for $86. It turned out to be NOS.

Glen just ran over me on that Kinfolks ACE a bit ago. (just kidding)

Then there was this one... It's named WEDGE. The seller calls it a wedge. It might actually be a wedge (maybe) and it's a spike point to boot. I don't have a wedge. So I figured I'd go all the way to $100 on this one. ($100 - 4.95 shiping = 95.05 bid). Then I figured it looks really good (except for hints of grundge on the inside of the scales) and I can try a wedge and IT'S A KINFOLKS (and one of the ones that doesn't have the "Incorporated" abbreviated to "Inc" indicating it's an older one), so I figured I'd go to a max bid of $100. Day later I figured $100 is too common a number for people to use as a max bid so I should up mine to just over $100 ($110 - 4.95 shipping = $105.05).

Couple of days ago I figured I really did wanted this one, and if it turned out to be in as good of shape as the last one then maybe it would be the last ebay razor I'd take a risk on. So I figured I'd just shoot my wad and go BIG. So I upped my max bid to a whopping $115.05!

Get back from bowling tonight and... I WON! $46.05 + 4.95 shipping = $51.00 . (I really hope it looks like the pictures).

It's pretty obvious I shouldn't be allowed anywhere near eBay...

philotrix razors are good in my experience. he doesn't pawn junk and is very honest, so I bet that's as good as you hope. I was eyeballing it but am marhalling my resources for a couple other razors. So have fun with that puppy.

Agreed, philotrix is an excellent seller. I just bought my second razor from him that was better than described, and at a good price. I've been looking for a good Kinfolks and saw this one, but felt that the final bidding would be out of reach for me. Nice score!

Probably no need. I think I'm done now (well, at least for a good while unless I decide to go for a large size blade). I've got a Stainless Dovo, Bergischer spanish point, that gem of a short, spike point TOP-NOTCH, and now a spike point wedge. (Not in the rotation 'cause it needs maintenance is the KW which I'm going to learn how to hone with). So I'm set! A different flavor of shave almost every day of the week.

So I take it you didn't just overlook it...
You already have one? Anything you know about this model? What do you think I should expect? I want to hear your evaluation of it. I'm thiking it would have been a good value at $100. Haha, it even has more bling than the last one with the name on the scales and everything.

Not really... I don't think. No I'm sure of it. Not interested. After you scored that last one the other one left was "slightly knicked edge". Looked like someone had pounded nails with it. I put in some minimal bid on the ACE for the additional bling and to have a second Kinfolks. I expect it's pretty similar to my TOP-NOTCH except a full length blade and prettier (I really do like the shorter blade). Now the WEDGE (if it'a actually a wedge blade) should be completely different!

Found it on the kinfolks page. I'm beginning to think maybe "Wedge" refers to the shape of the scales. It's in the mail so I should have it Monday.

Kinfolks Incorporated - Knives of Quality and Distinction

"Here are two of Kinfolks most popular razors. The Blue Steel Special and the Wedge. Both razors have the cream colored celluloid handles. If you remember the "white side wall" haircut then you will remember these. Two good starters for a Kinfolks Razor collection.
