I really only want maybe 7-10 of those blades, the larger heavier grinds. I could probably sell off all the rest for 10 bucks a pop. offset the cost. man my wife would kill me if I had more projects.

It seems that Ebay buyers worldwide would historically rather bid on something the cat coughed up (and I don't mean, a crappy condition vintage razor, I mean cat vomit) rather than touch a custom rescaled razor.:shrug:

Chris I find that interesting too. now this is a big lot, with some nice blades (of course I elft work early with a cold, my kids have been ill so my 1yo couldn't be put down and slept on my chest for 2 hours, I missed bidding, wouldn't have matter I'd have stopped at 165 because of budget :D ) but I see it a lot.
I can't believe that for 400+ dollar you couldn't get josh earl, joe chandler or Harner to make a 8/8 custom razor for you. Hell, I'm sure many of the members have examples of these old big blades they'd loan for reference. I understand there are collectors, but me I'm just a happy hoarder of things I like, later value seldom plays into it. I'd much rather plunk down hard earned (and secretly spent) money on one just the way I order it.
