How come nobody's talking about this one?
Probably gonna go a lot higher than I can, but I'm still watching.
46 Straight Razors for Restoration - eBay (item 110345976549 end time Feb-06-09 18:00:08 PST)
I really only want maybe 7-10 of those blades, the larger heavier grinds. I could probably sell off all the rest for 10 bucks a pop. offset the cost. man my wife would kill me if I had more projects.

Because nobody wanted anybody else to notice it most likely.

See, I got dinged for this before, but then saw that one about the 8/8 and figred we were in a more chatty mood now. I figured if somebody put in a 150 starting bid there was already a heavy weight in the ring.
I thought it would be nice for a couple of guys to go in on it and divide up the blades they wanted. sorry if either of you were watching it. my bad, again.

everybody would want the heavy grinds, so i don't know how splitting would work.
most likely the man who wants them most will be selling off the ones he doesn't want to keep.
you kids play nice, it's just a bunch of old rusted steel.

Well, I hope the best for whoever buys them; and I hope even more so that the person who buys them will be the first to shatter the elusive custom razor glass ceiling that seems unbreakable on Ebay.
It seems that Ebay buyers worldwide would historically rather bid on something the cat coughed up (and I don't mean, a crappy condition vintage razor, I mean cat vomit) rather than touch a custom rescaled razor.

Chris I find that interesting too. now this is a big lot, with some nice blades (of course I elft work early with a cold, my kids have been ill so my 1yo couldn't be put down and slept on my chest for 2 hours, I missed bidding, wouldn't have matter I'd have stopped at 165 because of budget
) but I see it a lot.
I can't believe that for 400+ dollar you couldn't get josh earl, joe chandler or Harner to make a 8/8 custom razor for you. Hell, I'm sure many of the members have examples of these old big blades they'd loan for reference. I understand there are collectors, but me I'm just a happy hoarder of things I like, later value seldom plays into it. I'd much rather plunk down hard earned (and secretly spent) money on one just the way I order it.
