Mike, did I happen to mention that that blade was in its original factory sealed coffin?:w
Or that I spent over 130 for a blade I couldnt even see?:w:D

gugi thanks for that info. I dont want to learn the hard way , what not to buy . I will look for those sellers you suggested. I already bought a few that looked great in pics but were not as nice when I recieved them. Speaking of Max, I cant wait to see what he does with what I sent him.
JMS that is beauty, I would have no problem buying something without seeing it if i knew the seller. I have done that many times with old guns. I have looked at stuff half as nice as what you show for a lot more money.
Hey guys! you found one of my auctions....
Yes, I'm fairly new to straight razors.
You can find me in chat if you wanna talk to me about it... I can send you "before" pics of this razor.. it wasnt too bad when I got it, I just cleaned up a bit of surface stains and whatnot.
I sanded it a bit with 400 and 600, and then polished. I didn't remove any more of the stamp than was already gone when I got it.
Thanks for criticism in this thread though, because yes, I am working to better my pictures. And yes, I need to start saying "I RESTORED THIS" in my auctions.
Thanks,
Brad (undream22)
Good luck bidding on this nice razor now that it's on everyone's radar! ;)
meh, I'll just post the "before" pic...

I have a different view. I think the razor looks good to me and I appreciate full disclosure. The simple fact alone that he clarifies that the razor is "not shave ready" to me means that he has a strong understanding of what he is selling.
I have a hard time convincing skeptics but most people selling razors on Ebay have no clue that you are even considering actually being crazy enough to shave with what they are selling. The whole idea is so silly that they sell them from a completely different perspective.
Sort of like buying an antique knife and asking if you can cut bread with it.
And there you have it! It was a light/mistamp, and it probably got worn off just a bit more from the sanding/cleanup.
I think most of you guys didn't get Mike's question...
Was it worn off due to a LOT of use?
OR
Was the razor hardly/moderately used and it wore off because it was a light stamp and/or due to the cleanup?
Very legitimate question if you ask me. :)
