Thread: Another strange TI Damascus

So this TI is finishing in a couple of hours. It is item # 400040015634 in case the link doesn't work. The scales don't look like TI to me and the spine has these strange dots. It just doesn't look right to my eye. They remind me of the dots that are left in the edge of tempered glass from the fasteners from which they hang the glass when they are tempering it. The one I have is perfect and I am pretty sure thebigspendur's is too. This is the second TI Damascus to come up on ebay in the last couple of weeks. The first one was discussed in this thread here and looked worse then this one. It is the same seller.

I remember the other TI damascus listing, and this one has that strange polished area below the etching too....It's not even at all. The spine has those spots that look like corrosion and if you look a the close-up picture of the blade itself, the spine looks more worn in the middle and doesn't look even...

If it shaves well I guess it doesn't matter, but if I were to spend over $200 on a razor I would want it looking better. Unless I had the intention of re-furbishing it and reselling it at a higher price...

I remember the last one from this seller as well, definately not TI scales and this one looks like the edge has been on a belt sander. Looks like some serious pits on the spine.

it is the same seller, so i suspect it came from the same place the first one came from.
most certainly rather odd looking.
the mop scales could be considered an upgrade from the ti ones, definitely not fitting the razor though.
