As to price and recession, people were still making fortunes during the great depression. Only 8% of Americans are unemployed and actively searching for work. 90% of us have jobs. I'm sure people have money.

In one german shaving forum there exists an thread about that damascus razors.
Short: they might be good looking, but it is not possible, to hone them shaveready.
You dont get useable damascus for razors at this price! Even not in pakistan or elsewhere.
