A gambler at heart...
I just won an auction tonight...
It has 15 blades...I ended up paying a whopping $186 shipped.
Reason being:
4 dubl ducks
2 henckels
2 case razors
I took a chance though, because the pictures were BAD... I did contact the seller though, and he said no chips / cracks. We'll see!

Ah, so you were the winner. My max bid was $30. You CREAMED me!
I'm glad I've lost the last 4 razors I've bid on, I'm purchasing 4 pucks of the group buy Rose Otto soap when the money clears from my bank account on Thursday.
I bid $90 on this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=220414711722
What a shame to lose by $1.35, looks like a good candidate to send to Glen.
I've kind of learned my lesson about eBay wins. My first was a Case Red Imp. I'm contemplating throwing it away. The pictures in the auction stunk and I being a newbie (and still being one!) just couldn't resist. I'm glad it was only $10. If anyone really wants it, send me a PM, the first one to PM me gets it, just leave your address and I'll send it out this week, no charge. IMHO, it's not worth the effort to restore it. The toe height is visibly shorter than the heel and there's more rust than I'd hoped for.
I can just put $50-75/month into my paypal account and buy one of those nice Mastro Livi's from Lynn once a year or several of the great DOVO's he stocks and be guaranteed a nice razor versus the anticipation of waiting on someone's potential junk. Once in a while, you get lucky......I am the GRAND POOBAH of unlucky. I hope the lot you won is in great shape!Last edited by CableDawg; 05-25-2009 at 05:12 PM.

Thanked: 234I've taken a few gambles on ebay, and so far I've been pretty lucky. I did decide a maximum amount I would spend on a single razor, and it aint much.

Hey, if you went to a Las Vegas casino and gambled away $186, you would leave with nothing for your trouble. This way, at least you have something. I will bet that when your package arrives, you will have at least 2 outstanding value razors in that lot. Can't wait to see the pics! Congratulations on taking the chance.
