I just got off the phone with someone from paypal because I noticed something different on a recent sale. Apparently, starting last week if you send money from a personal account (bank account) and you (the sender of the money) indicate it is for goods then paypal will take their fee...even though it came from a personal account (not a credit card account).
Here is how it worked:
I sold something for $30, the buyer sent a personal payment from a bank account for $30. Prior to last week, I would have the full $30 in my account.
However...
Now paypal takes the $30 and charges a flat $.30 plus 2.9% of the transfer. So now I get only $28.83
The workaround is for the sender of the money (the buyer of the product) to click the "Personal" tab before submitting the payment. This allows the full amount to be transfered.
Or, you can charge more for the item to offset the fees...
