The last three bidders are zero feedback. It seemed legit up until $2600.00 and then the phonies got into it. Probably will sell to the genuine bidders with a second chance offer. Still a hunk of change for a set of scales. Glad I don't collect fancy scales. :D

That can't be right, can it? A typo maybe. Cmon, 9 grand for a razor. Unless Napoleon or someone like used it, really. How can it be worth that much money. does it have a history. You can probably get Gold Scales for 9 grand...

I agree, aside from the extended wings, the bug looks like a scarab. A dung beetle.

For $9,000 that's exactly what that razor would be expected to do for me; it would need to literally transform my body and soul.

Sounds like some of these buyers are treating old razors like old gold coin collections. Take the case of one of the sellers at an antiques market I sometimes visit, who, when I asked where his razors were that day, said, "I didn't bring them with me, because I was AFRAID someone would buy them all."
Well, isn't that the point of bringing things to your rented stall at an antiques market? To SELL those things?
I wonder if the buyer will re-neg on this deal. I also wonder if the first bidder who brought it over 1000, actually made a typo? And then others followed suit thinking it was a hot buy? Is there platinum in those scales? Looks like something a soldier or officer might have been issued. Nice, I suppose, but I'd spend the money if I had it, on different, more usable items. Including stocking my fridge up!! A sleep number bed. And some customs from some of the members here, a razor set from SRD (with Lynn's DVD, natch) and of course TM strops, one model with both leathers, and the other a matching cloth strop, some hones, AND I'd still probably have change to spare to take some friends out to dinner!!
An unbelievable end to this auction; a bidding war at the end finished at over $9000!!!! The winning, and I presume very inebriated, bidder only had one feedback. So, it will probably be relisted, unless he pays up. That is why many sellers block bidders with low feedback numbers.
