Razor-blade and safety-razor maker.
Round, spike, spanish, barber notch, french, makes no difference to me. I wouldn't buy it because its 5/8ths. :)

Could someone comment on this type of steel? How is it different that Sheffield/Solingen? Is it noticeably different - smoother/stays sharper longer, etc.?

I've got them in 9/8, 8/8 and below. If it is a full hollow a 5/8 is ideal IMO. Less flex than a large blade yet plenty of blade and more manuverable than a larger razor. :shrug: IME you can't beat Swedish steel so what is the issue ? :) Buy it ,

more about what? the razor posting in the OP? it is a rare, german made razor using swedish steel; two qualities some of us really like.
I have two razors: spike point and rounded point. I prefer the rounded point. What is the issue?
the issue is that while you may want to spend your money on a round point, i do not. ergo, "if only it weren't round".
