Default LOTS of Friodurs for sale

Has anyone else noticed that there seem to be a crapload (sorry, technical term) of NOS 7/8 Friodurs for sale these days, both privately and on eBay? A lot of them seem to be the worked spine/Spanish point model (although there seem to be others out there too), most are in plain black or maroon scales, and all are in generic "Solingen" coffins. (You can even buy one over at Vintage Blades right now!) All of that tells me that there must be some large stash of Friodur blanks or finished blades somewhere that someone is working on selling off. Which is fine, of course, since they are great blades, and already I own 4 Friodurs myself. I was just wondering if anyone knew about how this apparently large quantity of blades came to be sold at this point. Thanks!

I would really like to get my hands on a Spanish Point Friodur.

You know, I think some of them are being sold by Manfred at www.manyrazors.de. If you email him, he will sometimes just quote you a "buy it now" price for what you want. I'm seeing the 7/8 Friodurs from lots of other vendors too, but I'm sure that at least some of them are coming from Manfred. Good luck!

I don't think it's so much that a stash has been discovered as whoever has the stash decides to let them out in small groups. Probably someone selling in bulk, but not huge quantities. Could well be someone's retirement fund, or buy a new car fund, or vacation fund, or ...

Well, they are pretty nice. I have two sitting on my desk (square point, worked back, 7/8, NOS blade, used scales). They were about USD 70 each. Makes you wonder what justifies the going rate of Filarmonicas, if you ask me.
