I posted a thread on that razor in the ebay forum a couple of weeks ago, when the guy first listed it, but there was an even better thread showing other examples of the same type. All Sheffield razors IIRC.

It's interesting for sure. The seller has several sets and other unique razors also for sale on the bay.

Here is the one by me, http://straightrazorpalace.com/aucti...-bank-one.html
and an older one ..... http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...hlight=scissor
There may be more, not sure.
EDIT; Shaptonn posted a link to this thread in the Rodgers thread .... http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...ring-tail.html
Get enough of these and we can have a "Ring Tail Razor Club"Last edited by JimmyHAD; 10-20-2014 at 11:08 PM.

Jimmy, there is only one more out there. They belonged to an early Irish gang in Chicago's early days. The boys went down to the Hebrew blacksmith's shop, all 4 hanging off a stolen draft horse. Chico, Jorge, Juan, and Paco all produced their razors and the blacksmith began his work. They had to wait. Was not their side of the street. Soon, the Hebrew was done, pinned back up!
The boys were so jazzed, they began to hoot and holler. Then, the draft horse kicked the forge over.
You know the rest!
Honest!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Also for the record, it should be clear from the pics, the razor linked by OP here is a Tillotson, not Elliot as the seller has misread.

Yes, and if I'm not badly mistaken, isn't it the same razor that was pictured in the one thread with the Rogers Ring ? The one the seller of the Rogers was going to keep ? The scales and blade look the same though the color is different in the ebay listing than the one in the thread. Comparing the two, not sure if it is the same exact razor, or only the same model, I'm sure they made thousands of them ........
......... Top one is from the thread, the bottom from the bay ;
Edit; I might add that some in one of the threads thought the scales were replacements. They look very like originals to me but I could be wrong, I was wrong once before.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Same exact razor, just look at the location of characteristic rust spots. I wouldn't doubt that the scales are originals. There were some real oddballs made once in a while. As far as scissor tails, I've seen a few go through ebay the past year. The scales weren't as fine as these, but I don't think any of them broke $200.
