I got my Charnley Forest from that seller awhile ago and paid significantly more.

Not sure if the stone linked though is a charnley...

I didn't won or even bid on it. There was no mention about the grit so how can you know what you get?

i think the seller is a bit of a fly boy to be honest, he knows fine well what hes selling from the contact ive had with him over messages. just really gutted i didnt win it, i was hovering over my computer the whole time and then got beaten at the very last second, literally. i think it was a sniping program used as i couldnt believe it!
who knows, but im just feeling bitter as a lemon right now, ive bought that many stones now!

what exactly is "sniping?" I assume it is just a last second bid but am I missing something? I thought that was very common on almost all auctions

it is very common but this was slightly fishy, it reached 1 sec and then even flashed up on my screen that it was over THEN i was outbid!
very weird, and first time ive seen that happen!

If you want to win an auction you have to enter the highest bid. Whether in the beginning (not recommended) or at the end. Someone wanted it more than you did. I enter my bid manually, no sniping program. I like the adrenaline rush.

I snipe in the last 4 seconds or so with my max bid. The + on this is that I'm not encouraged to bid more whereas if I were to bid earlier and wasn't highest I'd be inclined to break my resolution and go for more. The 4 second thing leaves me winning or losing with no time to send in another bid.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
