Default This is NOT an Escher

Vintage German Water Razor Hone Stone similarly escher - eBay (item 280635063412 end time Mar-07-11 19:30:04 PST)

Someone is trying to pull a fast one here. For those who do not know German: it says on the label it is a "..kuenstlicher Abziehstein..." i.e. it is an artificial, man-made hone.

So if you want a barber hone: it may be something for you. If you want an Escher: look elsewhere.

The description does declare it to be an artificial hone. The only deception that I see is in the title, in which it says "similarly escher." I have a hone that is clearly made by the same company. The box is identical except the name on it is "Perfect" rather than "Ideal." I got it from ChrisL and it is an excellent barber hone.

    But, it ain't an Escher.

Looks like they edited the listing after Kees "asked" them a "question."

Kees, you did a great job telling the seller what they have. You were very polite, and didn't treat the seller like he or she was trying to cheat people. That is a refreshing change from the "You are evil, stupid, and trying to cheat me!" attitude that is so common in ebay threads on SRP.
