the bottom one looks very similar to mine, and i would like to restore it to look like that if possible.
is there any way of finding out what year it was made approximately? it was a buy in the dark moment on ebay tbh, and i quite simply went with my gut that it looked "worthy" of restoring. I always knew Sheffield was known for it's steel as alot of my ancestors have been employed in the steel industry, but didnt know it was for razors too. :-) its my duty to restore it.
thanks jimmy i will do that. i bought a new thiers issard about a month ago, and although i am no razor expert, it doesnt seem sharp to me. followed stropping instructions etc but it has never really seemed sharp as i am making 3/4 passes in the same direction to get the same effect as from my mach 3, but fed up of buying them.
