It is on my radar:)
Man, the bids on that thing are moving right along. Should be a lot of fun to hone.
These have been high on my list since that 'Tinitus' guy posted one a long time ago. Oh for an endless credit card...
He's a GREAT seller!! I got a Toyo 666 from him and love it!!
You just have to remember to smile when you use it.

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky
you'll get by.
If you smile through your pain and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through
For you.
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying.
You'll find that life is still worthwhile-
If you just smile.
Yikes! Getting rather expensive now!
Bassguy has a razor like that, and he sent her to me to play with for a while. It was a bit of a challenge to shave with; his was a lot smaller than it looked in the photos. It's definitely a cool razor, but I wouldn't want one myself.
Good starter razor....
If honed properly, these razors are a ton of fun. I'm waiting to unpack my microscope before touching up my Saito, but I know that when I do I'll have to sit down, slow down, and really give this blade the respect it deserves.
I'm afraid the edge was lacking when Dylan played with it and this may have effected his level of excitement.
I could never get the hang of even the best kamisori, but this thing is definitely a uniquely Japanese take on the shaving art that resonates with me.
My dad just looked at the auction and remarked how it resembles a raptor claw.
I wonder if the people bidding realize how small that razor is . I took a set of calipers and measured the blade against the ruler in the pic . It's 3-5/8" from the pivot hole to the toe , and the actual blade is 2-1/4" .
The bloody thing is practically round, so shouldnt we be measuring it with Pi R2 or some such?
The way this thing is going will soon break a grand!!
:gwh: it IS.....almost a $300 jump in the last second!!!!
NO IT WAS NOT ME!!! to rich for my blood but looks like it would be a fun shave!
Holy crap.... That's silly money! We are all in trouble if there's a razor guy out there with that kinda coin for one wobbly Saito. I hope everyone else with one decides to sell to saturate the market lol.
That was a fun auction.
I figured I was doing good there for a while, but didn't quite foresee that last jump..
Ah well, I guess a few more will pop up now;)
Great auction!!! will see a few of them come up now!!
'Anything can be made somewhere else cheaper'
If the winner is an SRP member, please take a photo of the wife's face when you tell her how much it was. Or better yet, tell us the lie you used to avoid the knuckles. :)
Here we go again...
Hahaha, a seller's dream for sure:)
Already at $200+
It's not like the seller made the bidders fight for the razor. I think I remember when both of these razors first showed up for auction in the last few years - whoever wanted them cheaper should've bid more back then, they weren't secretly hidden or anything, you can probably even find the old forum threads discussing the auctions :)
Or you could've put your money in gold instead and smile just like the sller :p
the appearance seems off to me, but that is just my opinion based on visual cues. It reminds me of certain razor like objects in its appearance. I'd be curious to know how it shaves. I wish him the best of luck and didn't mean to slander a member.
Personally I'd be more worried about the utterly classless individual buying from the forums and profiteering flipped razors on ebay than the guy who's trying to sell his handmade goods. I'd happily buy from the latter.
