Problems With Paypal - Anyone Else Seeing This?
I'm trying to make a purchase from a well-established vendor in the UK using Paypal. The transaction completes with a warning to the vendor that my delivery address is not verified and therefore does not qualify for Seller's Protection. Understandably the vendor does not not want to complete the transaction if he doesn't have this protection.
I've talked with Paypal support twice, and each time they insisted that my Paypal account has my address verified (the account and two credit cards). With the vendor's permission, we tried the transaction this morning again with the same negative results. The last Paypal support agent I talked to suggested that something is incorrectly set in the seller's configuration, and suggested that I tell the vendor to check his setup with Paypal support, but I don't buy that. The vendor has been operating his web site for quite some time, he's a long-time member of this forum (I won't identify him here without his permission), and if there were something wrong with his Paypal setup, I wouldn't be the only one having problems.
The only options I have now from Paypal support are unacceptable to me and probably to the seller: either convince the seller to ship without Sellers Protection, make a gift transaction, or forget about the purchase.
I want to make it very clear that I support the seller's policy not to ship his product without the benefit of the Paypal Seller's Protection. Not only is he a well-respected member of this forum, he make a great product that I've been wanting to purchase for a long time.
I've had my Paypal account for several years, and I've made several international purchases in the last 3 years without any issues before this.
Has anyone seen this problem? If so, what was the resolution?
Thanks in advance for any advice and input you may have.
