What i do when i want to really zoom in as much as i can is i copy and paste the photo to the computer.
Then i open on the computer and i can zoom in as much as the pixels will allow.

When I sell on eBay, I shoot at 10 megapixels, and then downsample to 800px wide in Photoshop.
It's not to hide anything; it's because on my slow unreliable internet connection it's much easier to upload a photo that is less than 100k but still shows what I'm selling just fine than it is to upload a photo that is several megabytes and doesn't offer any extra useful information.
It costs more to have the photos zoom in the search, it doesn't usually cost more in the USA to have them zoom in the listing. In the UK they used to charge more for that feature though.
