    Default Ebay Question

This is for the people that sell on eBay. I tried to find out on the site, but couldn't find any answers. Does it cost more to have pictures able to be zoomed? I see some sellers from time to time that sell multiple things, but only certain ones able to zoom. Just curious if maybe they don't want people to see flaws as easy or if it just costs more to be able to do that. Maybe it is just harder to post pictures like that.

The zoom pictures are included with razor listings, IIRC. No extra cost. The seller would have to disable that feature. It is usually suspect that something is to be hidden if the feature is disabled
I believe this to be the case with U.S. sellers. I feel it is a different deal with other countries. Perhaps someone will know?

No, you just have to post photos that are large enough. Most people can't seem to use their damned camera well enough for it to matter.

I see. So this is why ebay requires more pixels. So if a picture is taken in, say, PC settting, it cannot be zoomed? It makes sense. Some listings seem to have some pics which can be zoomed and some which cannot.

I believe you just have to set the saved file size in the camera's menu settings to what is required by ebay or resize them up or down in something like PS Elements.

Good to know. I was thinking the same thing that if one seller with multiple listings would have them all able to zoom unless they were trying to hide something. I guess though since I can't really work 90% of the features on the camera I use except for point and shoot maybe others have problems with settings or whatever.

Yea, menus on digi cams can be a PITA to use. That still doesn't mean the zoom feature isn't deliberately disabled by intentionally posting a file size that is too small. There is always room to wonder which it is.

I always ask if I am really interested and have the time. Like if I think I see a blueish color on the blade I'll say something like " It looks like you got that hot when you polished it ". Sometimes you get back, " NO that's patina the razor has never been polished." but then I know it's blue. If you can't see it and don't ask you are gambling. And the sometimes you win and sometimes you don't. Personally, I don't gamble much ! If you do , good luck!

You know, it is really hard to tell what the condition of the razor is in from a lot of the photos because the colour balance, lighting and exposure can be way off. You can try to download the photo and have a play with it in a photo manipulation program to get a better idea too.

IME when a seller gets to the 'upload photos' part there are options to have up to 12 photos and those can be enlarged by the viewer. IIRC it adds $0.75 to the listing. There is another option that I never use that will add a few more cents. They nickel and dime you to death on this stuff. I always go for the extra photos.
