Default Hooray -- Hung in there and prevailed!

I am so happy with my progress. Got up this morning and when ordinarily I'd say, "Have to get out soon, let's use the cartridge razor", I said, "No (well that's not exactly what I said), I'm taking my time." So I did a hot towel prep, whipped up a good lather, did some prep stropping in my own pyramid fashion (10 linen, 25 on my old Hoffritz leather and 60 on my SRD paddle strop). Re-did the hot towel and lather prep. Then I lathered up and shaved... MY WHOLE FACE AND NECK. Sorry to shout, but I did everything but my "below the nose area" and did great. Well, it wasn't BBS, but it was as good as I ever got with any other device, so I consider it a victory. My face is smooth and happy, my wife said, "gee you look good" (after 35 years), I'm not bleeding or sore and I feel good about it. Hooray is all I can say. I'm sold on this pampering of oneself!

God bless SRP and its Forum members for guiding me and giving me confidence and advice.

Glad to hear about your progress! I'm a noob with less than 20 shaves under my belt, and I feel I'm getting better each and every time. I hear a lot of folks struggling with time in their morning routines, and my question is- why not shave at night? I will usually shower/ shave in the evening some time after dinner. I don't feel rushed, and I finish up in time to watch my evening tv shows! I'm usually at work at or a little before 5:30 am. I get up at 4:30 (and fight with the snooze button for 30 mins) and I have no desire to get up any earlier. Evening prep is much easier for me, YMMV!

I do that sometimes, or shave in mid-morning, since I am semi-retired. Actually, with the shaves I'm getting with a SR, I could shave the night before, as opposed to the ways I've shaved previously, from which I'd have a legitimate "5 o'clock shadow" by 4 o'clock

With my SR shave, I'd still be passable by 5 pm if I shaved at 7 pm the night prior. Good idea billyc4362

Glad to hear of your progress. I shave at night myself. My shave is still plenty passable by thr following evening. Keep it up.

Same here, I shave at night... around 8. Shave lasts the whole next day.

I shaved at night in the beginning when I cut myself up at a regular basis, but I switched to morning shaves after a few months. I'm willing to get up just a little earlier, because I enjoy the pampering in the morning It also allows me to faceturbate all day, as my face feels smoother after morning shaves than when one night has passed.

That said, pick either, as long as you take your time
    I want a lather whip

I am an evening shaver too, mainly because it takes me so darned long and I already get up at 4am. That being said my face looks pretty reasonable even just before I shave again. Congratulations by the way.
