Default Thoughts on the Dovo Carpe Diem?

I'm thinking about buying a second straight razor (after only 2 weeks of shaving with a straight every day - RAD is a horrible thing!). I'm currently using a Ralf Aust that I bought from SRD, and I really like the looks of the Dovo Carpe Diem. Anybody have any thoughts on it as a second razor for a beginner? Thanks in advance.

I don't have a Dovo Carpe Diem, but I do have a Dovo Carre, which is only about $30 more at SRD, and I absolutely LOVE it. The shoulderless design is great, it has a nice heft to it, and the thing shaves wonderfully. It was my third razor purchased and is definitely my favorite. If you don't have a 6/8 razor or a shoulderless I would highly recommend this razor.
I'd rather be tried by twelve than carried by six.

I have a Ralf Aust 6/8 Spanish Point from SRD and it is a great shaver. I do not own a Dovo, But I totally get your RAD as I too am a sufferer. You didn't mention what the blade style you'r Ralf Aust is which I think will help others make a recommendation.

And +1 on the shoulderless design. Although I have not tried one, they do garner good compliments.

No reason why it wouldn't be a good second razor.
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!

Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I think I'm going to stick with a 5/8 blade for now. I don't want to introduce too many variables at once!
