Thanked: 3Taking the plunge
Hi guys
Moved from the mach 3 five blade thing to DE about a year ago and saw the remarkable difference and am about to take a plunge in to the world of straights, Thomas Wilkinson 5/8, filly strop ordered and mikes natural soap
anything else i need to order at this moment?

Razor, strop, brush and soap is all you need. The rest is all for luxury or personal preference. Good luck

The biggest obstacle to straight razor shaving is a blade that isn't sharp enough. Here's hoping that yours is properly honed.

Pencil or alum block?

Technically a bit different. The pencil is more concentrated and will stop a bleed quick. The alum is more of a all over rub for the end instead of a spot treat.
