I have a couple of nice 3/8 Styledges (won't cut as deep) I could dull 1 up some and make safe. :<0)
Phrank, you just have to quit looking at the pretty razor while shaving and watch what your doing !

I have seen a few aggressive looking razors, but they look like that all of the time I would imagine. I don't think a bit of metal can have emotions. Though I heard stories about James deans (I think) Porsche that killed a few people, there was a theory that it was cursed.
I'm not trying to hijack the post, but as always, Big Ed's comment caused me to do a separate web-search (man he's good). Here's the info on James Dean's 'cursed Porsche 550 ' that was named Little Bastard. Legend has it that it continued to kill maim (sp) long after Dean's deaths.
Phrank, my offer stands.
The Curse Of James Dean's
OK, back to razors!!!!
and thanks to all.
I decided to stick to a routine for a week of shaves (about 3-4, given my schedule).
I decided I'd use the Dovo Prima Klang, which is fairly fresh from SRD (5 shaves?) and stick to my usual hot towel and lather prep, BUT stick to the DR Harris Arlington cream. Also stick to my same stropping routine...7-10 linen and 50 on the smooth side of the SRD paddle strop pre-shave, and 7 on linen and 40 on the same leather post shave.
I picked up in someone's comments (maybe on another thread) that with creams not as much product was needed to get a good wet, cushioning lather, so I concentrated on that. Good news...in spite of the Dovo being in my # 2 spot previously, I got a DFS today with it and it was really quite comfortable. I did pay careful attention to my drip and angle, and all seemed to go well...no nicks, no burn, few whiskers left to be cleaned up.
I will continue reporting this week here, as long as you can stand it.
Thanks everyone who commented, even about jinxed Porsche's, of which I have none :-)
