A Great Birthday Present!
Today, I turned sixty-eight. I started SR shaving early in Jan of this year, and celebrated my birthday with my first close and comfortable shave that didn't require any styptic pencil "touch-ups". Yippee!
In an hour, I'll be having tea/coffee with guys my age. Tonight, I'll be conducting a Lenten mid-week Vespers service. After that, lentil soup and adult beverages with my wonderful wife. We have a good and gracious God. This is a lot better than living in the Ashau Valley for three months. A great birthday present!

Hi Howard. I was also at Khe Sanh around Feb '68 to help lift the siege during Tet. I was with the 1st Cav, and my base camp was LZ Jane, a stone's throw from Evans, in Quang Tri provence. As Dickens said, "Best of times, worst of times."
I'm so glad you made it back. And thank you so much for your service. Things are so much better for me since the VA gave me some help with hearing aids (from the incoming at Khe Sanh) and the PTSD.
I'm retiring in about forty-one days, from my clergy profession, and I'm really looking forward to it. I don't know what month in '46 you were born, but Happy Birthday anyway.
Hope to hear more from you, buddy. Till then, God bless.
