    Default Allentown, PA area honer

    I recently purchased a beautiful custom razor but I'm afraid the edge may have been dulled during shipping and my abilities on the hone simply aren't sufficient to get the blade to an acceptable level. Does anybody know of any honers living in/around the Allentown, PA area that I might be able to have hone my razor while avoiding shipping (and causing the same issue again)?

    There are a few of people who are capable in the greater area. One who comes to mind is mrsell in Reading. I am in Hazleton area and could help out too. I would try reaching out to mrsell because he is a wealth of knowledge is willing to share it.

    Hello jackstone! I have a barber shop in Wyomissing PA and a few of our members meet there from time to time (about 1-2 sessions/month). You're more than welcome to come join us or even drop your razor off for honing. Jerry (Mrsell63) is very skilled at making things sharp! He visits me weekly. Send him a private message if you'd like. We can take care of ya!

    Also, a razor that's honed and packaged correctly shouldn't get dull in the mail. Maybe the edge just isn't up to par with your whiskers. I'm sure it can be improved. Me, myself, I just can't get used to shaving with huge custom blades 8/8 and bigger. Maybe in time....
