I would like to know how many razors you use with any regularity.
I rotate rotations, so your count needs to go maybe an order of magnitude higher than 8.
I need about 2.
That will keep me with a freshly honed edge at all times.
What I use though is a slightly higher number, not represented in your multiple choice poll..
Wow! It only goes up to ten. How many razors do you own?
Well, I'm not quite sure.
You see, to some of us around here this is a bit more than just removal of facial hair:)
It has been a hobby of mine for a few years now, and that has influenced the number of razors quite considerably.
If I should venture a guess at a number, somewhere between 300 and 350.
Or thereabouts.
I only shave once a week at the moment. I also seem to be buying a razor a week at the moment so I'm constantly changing to the latest to try it out. My rotation? I'll tell you when I stop buying more razors.
Is the vote for per week?
As I have over 20 in current rotation fully shave ready (and happy to shave with) :tu
Not counting a similar number not quite right (like a bit harsh on the face ) and more WIP's in the shed and the mail :w
I use one.
Per day
I haven't counted them, but they're all 7/8 or much larger, shave ready and in a pretty extensive rotation. I'd guess between 60 and 70.
I don't use any regularly. I use a bunch of them week to week. Working on putting together a 365 day set ......... :w
A newbie post....only up to 8......LOL :)
Using this definition of regularly my answer is 0.
reg·u·lar·ly adverb
: at the same time every day, week, month, etc. : on a regular basis
: very often
: with the same amount of space between each thing
My wooden test tube holder (also known as my razor stand) usually holds 6 Fillys and 6 Kamas. But not always the same 6. Then the drawer holds about 15 more out of the 100 or so floating around the house.
I have around 25 and rotate about 15 in my regular cycle.
Definition doesn't work for me either as I have about a 40 razor rotation and pick whichever one moves me at the moment.
I used to plan to use a certain razor, but half the time when it came time to pick it up, I had changed my mind!
So I don't use any particular razor regularly, unless of course you go by brand, then I'm pretty regular I guess...
I have quite a few but my rotation is a bit slower. I usually use the same one everyday for three to six months, and then go on to the next. I do mix it up a bit every so often, but then go back to main one.
I like to get to know a razor really well, and it's the only way I know how to prevent uncontrollable/dangerous spending.
I have collected about 30 and try to use them in order of the last one until all are used then over again. some times I get confused and loose track.
I have about 100, but this one is my favorite, Its all original, and a awesome shaver it even has has a small crack in the edge.

As the world turns so changes the number of razors in rotation from day to week to month to year to ..........
Finances has stopped the growth of my collection at 32 in rotation and about six waiting to be honed to either add or replace in the group of face scrapers. Any true answer to the question is as ephemeral as the quest for the Golden Fleece, the Pot of Gold, the Holy Grail and the perfect shave.
This is an addiction I prefer to drug or alcohol (save for a double Vodka Gibson with Tomolives instead of onions.)
Define regularly...If you mean at least once a week...none. If you mean once every month...none. I follow a set rotation of all my shave ready razors. It take >30 days to come around to the same razor again.
I own 31 straight razors, but find myself no longer comfortable using any of the full-hollow grinds; this leaves me with twenty that are half- or quarter-hollow, or near-wedge, and, of these, I probably use ten of them with any consistency.
I sold ten of my "top" razors this past year, and really ought to sell my remaining full-hollow grinds; this is after seven years as a straight-razor shaver on a regular basis. It's not so easy, arriving at a conscious awareness of what one prefers, even if deeper-down we know what's-what; anyway, it hasn't been, for me. Although I caution beginners to not buy so quickly, I recognize and admit that it's easier to say, than do.
Smooth shaving!
I've got 5 i rotate through. I might skip or repeat one as the mood strikes me, and I do have 2 DEs I pull out once in a while, on a much much lower frequency
The poll only goes to 8? This must be some sort of mistake.
two,1str8 and 1de (puma gold and mercur 34c)
Takes me about a month to go through my rotation and longer if I throw in some DEs and SEs just for variety.
Bob
Right now I have 4 that I rotate through. I have 2 others that I'm restoring. I don't plan on buying any others. I do have 1 DE that I use if I'm in a hurry.
I am a poor man, and only have 2 and a shavette. I'm newbie and get some razor burns with the SR so I rotate also with the Shavette to reduce the razor burn two or three days a week.
I am not sure how many I have but there are 8 that I use most of the time and I use them in no order I chose the one that speaks to me when it's time to shave. Most of the time it is a Mistro Livi, Hart Steel or one of my Zowdas. But my Dovo's are feeling left out so maybe I will use one of them tonight
I keep my shave ready blades in a knife roll that holds 38 str8s I set them all facing the me in the standard front side, as I use them and put them back I flip them over, no real order to use but make sure it has not been used, when complete flip all back & stars again,
But then I have a couple in silicon sleeves in the draw, that sometimes get precedence, weather they fit in the rotation or not but I am just feeling them, like my Bruno blade and my inherited GAMERX
I have 41 razors as of today...
But I use about a dozen of them for like 90% of my shaves.
I use one Razor for a few weeks/months then move on to another. I don't even really know how many Razors I have between the "Old Honing Technique" Pile, the "Current Honing Technique" Pile, the "Not Even Sure Where To Start" Pile, the "Definitely A Keeper" Pile, the "Prep And Flip" Pile or the smallest "How The Heck Do You Hone Something Like THAT?" Pile. ;)
I have purchased all my Razors either through the Classifieds here or eBay or a couple lucky scores either Craigslist or Word Of Mouth... Never owned a New SR yet.
My Current SR I got back from Glen/GSSixgun and I've been using it for quite a few months... Mostly because we are Re-Modeling my Bathroom and all my stuff is in boxes everywhere... But, also because it is just an awesome Razor in CF with a chartreuse spacer and added Center Pin... I gave it the name 'Tron' as it just has that type look to it and is an awesome SR all around. I looked for pics but don't remember where/if I stored them. ??
One unintentional benefit from having a long line of SR's is I can go back and see where my Honing 'was' when I first started as well as the first few Resto's that I did... Kinda cool being able to look at a SR that still closes off-center as that was prior to me knowing how to adjust that and then seeing how far I've come. Not sure I'll every change that first Razor Restoration as it is a neat benchmark that has been met and beat long ago but still represents where I came from!

I used to own a lot of razors. Now I just have a few that I can fit in a small container. :w
12...plus 2 DE and one custom I should see sometime next year
I have 3 in rotation now,but just got 7 more at an antique store.Time to break out the hones!
I must have the RAD antibodies -- I only have 4 razors, use three of them. I just plain don't like the 4/8, but it does a pretty good touch up on the chin when needed.
One. And when I need to hone it, i use a DE.
Or thereabouts...:rofl2:
I'm limiting myself to 21 razors for routine use. I tried 14 but couldn't abide it. I also have an additional stowage of razors separate from my 21 that must be older than ~200 years to qualify for this special grouping. But I shave with all of these too.
I follow a complicated algorithm...
Lately only 2. I'm on the lookout for another good 7/8 straight.
Two straights and one DE for me. More as finances allow in the future.
