    Default shavemac brush

I am looking to purchase a shavemac silver tip brush http://www.shavemac.com/index.php?la...2583&prod_id=3. The only thing holding me back is the wood handle..

    • With proper care; washing with warm water, drying well and hanging on stand after use, will it last as long as another brush with another handle?
    • Finally, at this price do you think it's a good buy? I have heard only good things thus far about shavemac brushes.
    • Is the size adequate for my face? I have an average size face
Thanks in advance for all your help

Rosewood is an incredibly resilient wood under most conditions - so with proper care I can't see this being a problem. Just make sure to let it dry on a brush stand upside down to drain the water off of it. The price and size are out of my scope of knowledge, as i'm shiny new to this wet-shaving hobby. I do however know my woods reasonably well, and I say if the price is reasonable according to others on this forum, go for it. It's a fine looking brush, and i'd envy anyone who owned it!

I have a Shavemac with a 23mm knot. It is a good size. You'll love this brush! Two of my Shavemac brushes have wooden handles, and while I have not had any issues with them (they are the SMF I and II), I know that Bernd at Shavemac has redone a few do to issues. As already mentioned, just be sure to dry it properly.

I have two Shavemac a 429, 23mm finest, and a 220, 28mm silvertip and i love them both the 429 i think is nicer with soaps, whereas the 220 is fantastic with creams.
I have a Muehle pinsel olivewood silvertip brush it is about 4 months old and is holding up well. Just shake them off well and hang them upside down to dry.
