Hello to all reading this. Do the DOVO razors on classicshaving.com come pre-honned and ready to shave with or are they included in the "no new razor is shave-ready" category. I have one that I have used several times but it drags a bit and is still not that smooth-glide shave I use to get with my DE. I'm pretty confident in my stropping, so I don't believe it's because of that.

The new DOVO razors do not come shave ready. The general consensus seems to be that some TI's are very close but not DOVOs. You will definately get a better shave if you get the razor properly honed.

Any new razor you buy froma retail establishment will come in varying degrees of sharpness. You never know beforehand how close to shave ready it will be no matter the brand. I have about 10 TI's all bought new and most were pretty close but some were dogs (talking shave ready condition here only not the razor itself) and I've had Dovo's also pretty close and some not. So, when you buy new just assume you will need some honing that way you won't be disappointed.
