Show us YOUR Beard Map!!!
Not your friend's. Not your dog's. Preferably not a hand drawn or flash player drawn version (though that is not discouraged; it is still a valid diagnostic tool).

The emphasis here is to compare and contrast different challenges faced by the fellow members. I had the idea for this because I am a very visual learner, and thought others might benefit from us sharing. Also, being the youngest of four boys, I became hardwired for "learning from other's mistakes" lol.

To do this, I grabbed one of the wife's eyeliner/lip liner/brow pencil things (after getting permission, of course ), and made sure it had a reasonable point. Pay attention fellas, this part is important: TEST IT ON YOUR HAND (or someplace not noticeable & easily washed) FIRST TO MAKE SURE IT CAN BE WASHED OFF!!! Last thing we need to do while attempting this is to make a "guy mistake" and grab her water-fast/waterproof makeup pencil and go to town marking up our face only to have it not wash off very easily!

I tried to make wide/shallow arrows for hair that stood up more; and more narrow/elongated arrows for hair that likes to lay down against the skin (usually means it is thin, as well). It didn't turn out quite like it was pictured in my head, but that's typical of anything I draw ... I'll give it another go eventually, with more detail & maybe do my whole face.

Then I shaved. Using lathered soap as shaving cream meant it wasn't necessary to worry about scrubbing it off .

I wasn't trying to post a generic "one size fits all" beard map. If you had actually read the content of my starting post, you would have seen that I made an attempt to address those illustrations.

We don't all have the exact same face. For example: though I am 29, I'm somewhat baby-faced. As a result, there is virtually no "stretch" to my skin: getting the hollows of my neck is a challenge when the skin won't move more than 3/4's of an inch in any direction.

This was intended to start a discussion, so folks coming and going could talk about how they tackle the tricky angles and growth changes with the help of pics.

Hehe, they can try. All they will get is a dose of wisdom about how a bit of insight can save you a world of pain . There is an old saying from the little rural town I grew up in that would sum up my rebuttal to their blackmail. It goes: "A penny wise, & pound foolish." The closest I can translate that to literal terms is buying "manager's special" meat... that is likely full of filler/about to expire/just a crapy grade of meat, in order to be a penny pincher.
