Thanked: 3215Some good antiseptic / antibiotic, Bacitracin zinc or Neosporin ointments will speed up healing. Shave around scab for a day or two.
As said check the edge, sounds like it needs a touch-up.

crox stropping is a good start. Just make sure it is the pure .05 micron one and not just a green stick as they tend to have much larger particles which doesn't matter for a knife but does for a razor. If the crox doesn't bring it back you will need to go to a stone at which point your best to send it to a pro and just maintain it with the crox. If it is a factory edge and has never been pro honed send it out regardless

Thanked: 1I found this 0.3 micron crox on ebay
Chromium Oxide Paste 0 3 Micron Straight Razor Leather Balsa Strop Sharpening | eBay
Abosuletely 0 @ Smoky Mountain Knife Works.
Cuts are mostly healed. Stropping. Seems to be keeping a good edge on the blade. It's a Noonan & bros Arabic blade, btw.
So, I'm guessing that I'm supposed to apply the 0.3 mic paste to the canvas side of my strop to freshen the edge? Any guidance would be appreciated.

You could apply to the inside of your canvas strop. You want the outside clean for daily use. You will only need a very very small amout. Just dab the tip of 1 finger in and do x's down the strop. Rub it over with a clean cloth or paper towels to remove any excess. Be careful not to contaminate your strop.

Thanked: 1Or get a canvas strop?
I didn't know that there's a daily application for the canvas stop. What's it used for and how?

Canvas/linen /felt and other secondary strops are used before leather stropping to start the edge alignment and clean it. Something like 25 linen and 50 leather
A separate strop for pastes is a good idea due to the contamination issueMy wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed
