Go to chem/lab supply and get some pure α-Tocopherol. Super antioxidant, also prevents oxidation of skin surface. Smells nothing.
Any mineral oil will suffice, on a day to day razor I also use eucalyptus oil.
Like the scent of it.
My intent was not criticism but just to point out a potential problem. I chose to use an oil that works both for long and short term storage simply because I don't have to worry about changed plans. I might use a razor today and not end up using it again for a couple of years.
Dont worry I didnt take it personally (I rarely do). Personally I wont have my first straight for another day or two, I just know what I would use on my gun and various other knives as well as what could be used in OP's circumstances.
In the next coming weeks I'm going to be picking up a new gun lube CorrosionX and from what I've heard and read, very well might become the only lube/protectant I use on every gun and blade I own...
Ballistol is my storage oil of choice. If they're in my one week rotation, I don't oil them.
Why we say no vegetable oils on razors.

I use heavy mineral oil, it's cheap & doesn't have any scent. It's always worked for me.
me too,,, heavy mineral oil
Mineral oil or renwax. Just make sure it's dry properly or you will seal moisture on the blade.
