you can order razor oil from almost anywhere, some use olive or other cooking oil. I would avoid anything that has chemicals that you dont want on your face, unless you plan on using a solvent to clean it before every shave which is not adviseable. If you own guns and use a "green" food grade gun lube/oil such as frog lube, you could use that...
Use whatever you like , I've used mineral oil, wd40, rem oil gun oil, olive oil, balistrol, renwax, 3 in 1 oil sewing machine oil, you will find what you like best and unless your using something radioactive, wiping it off before you shave takes care of any health issues, and I don't want any of the so called health experts chiming in, the man just wants to know what will work, these are viable options . Now to be honest unless it's put up for any length of time I don't use any oil on my 10 razors that get used, I just dry them well and put up in my safe which has a dehumidifier in it. Tc
I use ordinary J&J baby oil. Its mineral oil with perfume. Protects razors and won't hurt your face. And it's cheap.
CLP.... nuff said lol
I use mineral oil on the razors that I use most often and camellia oil on the ones that I don't use often or that are waiting to be restored.
Any type of vegetable oil works for day to day protection of razors you're using. Substance, one of the members here gave me some Renaissance wax, which sets hard and is great stuff for long term storage
I wasnt recommending olive oil for long term storage just every day use if your going to clean it before use every day or every other day its fine and is something almost everyone has in their house.
Would i use it on my guns or other tactical knives that dont see cleaning every day? Absolutely not...
