Over on B&B a guy is selling samples of MdC.
I never felt the urge to buy such expensive soaps. My favourites ATM are Proraso and Weleda. Weleda has a very pleasant lavender fragrance. But Arko is very good as well, I only don't like its scent. Remember: expensive isn't per se better.
But then again cheap isn't per se better either. Tc
There is nothing in that Forbes article about the placebo effect that has any relevence to this discussion.
You're quite right. The cheap brands I mentioned are good enough for me.
Artisanal soaps like most artisanal products are more expensive due to more labour-intensive production, more expensive ingredients and the higher per item cost of small scale production. The higher cost of ingredients will be partly due to the absolute value of the ingredient but also the smaller amounts a small scale artisanal producer buys. Therefore only a fraction of the additional price you pay for artisanal products goes towards higher quality.
