Acqua di Parma is an excellent shaving cream. It used to smell even better before they changed the scent but it still gives a top quality shave. And I mean a really top quality shave - I think it's probably the best I've used but my experience is limited.

Both are great soaps, if it's worth it to you it's worth it, many argue and want to say there's better for less and if that's true to them that's fine, but after trying a lot of soaps, a lot of creams, I still have MDC in my shave den and it's used most of the time, that and Castle Forbes,, now I do have some very good soaps at a lesser cost, per jar, but not per shave, the MDC goes forever. So YMMV when you find what you like it,ll be worth t to you,
Now if you buy any of those 2 I,m sure they will perform well. Tc“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”

Thanked: 3225Just type in either soap's name in the search box top right of the page. There are just a ton of threads on MdC. My Own view is that it is an excellent soap but I doubt I'll get another jar of it because for me it is past a my cost to performance ratio. The price is the price for MdC as there is only one source for it in North America, I believe, and that is direct from MdC. The other soap I have never used.

Interestingly, you have picked two of the most expensive shaving products. You could have added Santa Maria Novella.
I think all three of them are vastly overpriced. Green Mountain Soap will give all of them a run for the money. Why are some people ecstatic about them? For a number of cognitive biases listed here: Straight Razor Magazine: Avoiding bad buying decisions and wasted money.
You may also find this article useful: Why Is The Placebo Effect Exploding In The U.S. But Nowhere Else?.
In short: All three (MdC, ADP, and SMN) are decent products (well, actually, SMN is atrocious), but you can get the same, and better, performance from much cheaper products. You just lose the bragging rights.

Order MdC from their site, it's a little cheaper.

I actually agree Green Mountain is a fine soap,, it's somewhere around number 5 for me, and if your wanting a decent soap that performs and doesn't cost a lot, plus willing to have a mediocre after shave skin feeling and a scent that is common, this is a soap for anyone wanting decent shaving soap at a decent price for the price minded folks, I don't mind the better or in somes opinion only , more expensive soaps because I haven't found a soap that is really expensive. I,ve worked hard all my life and I,m willing to spend it on something I want , believe me I,ve spent more on my wife's soap and perfume and not to mention the rocks she wears so I,m good what the higher end soaps cost, cause I can. But I suggest you try a wide range of soaps, mother you will know he difference. Tc
