    Default Cheap everyday razor...

    Dun dun dun...
I don't shave with straight razors (someday...). I use Gillette. The other day I saw some Target Brand Up&Up razors. They are basically a Gillette copy. No power. No single blade in the back for detailing.

Has anyone used the Target brand razors?
    or...
Has anyone tried dollar shave club? Their best razor has 6 blades. Seems nice and convenient.

    Thanks

If you're going to use a cartridge I'd approach dollar shave club with a bit of caution. My facial hair is pretty coarse and tends to dull blades pretty quickly. When I used the mach 3 I could get quite a few shaves out of one cart. I tried dollar shave and it would have ended up costing me more, since I got maybe 2 shaves out of a cart before needing to replace it.
Of course with any cart I would get painful ingrown hair, especially on my neck, which looked like one big welt all the time. That's why I switched to DE and straights. Never tried the Target brand, but if Gillette is working for you... Might as well stick with it

I hate being the party pooper, but why don't you try a double edge?
It'll be an easy transition from a cart, and you won't go back...
Also, it's a rather cheap shave!

6 blades jammed together is not nice. A DE razor really is a much better option, and it really is a lot cheaper.

Just get a DE razor. Better shave. Cheaper in the long run.

It's also my opinion that you would be off best with a DE razor. There's lot's of choice in the blades and razors. In the long run you will have better. more enjoyable shaves, for a fraction of the costs of cartridge systems. That is, if you can stick to just one razor......

First off I would like to point out that my straights are everyday razors. That said...

I second this opinion. If more blades was better than 1 sharp blade, I would've jumped from 3 blades 6. More cartridge blades just means more (usually comparatively dull) razors making passes on your skin with each stroke, and that means compounded razor burn. Gillette lost my money when I found this site, and bought a Dovo. 1 shave ready blade is better than 2, 3, 6, or 12 dull ones on a cartridge razor.

With a double edge or a straight you'll make fewer passes, agitate the skin less, and get a closer shave.

Go with the DE and you won't want to use cartridges anymore. When I did use cartridge razors I never thought about shaving, it was just something that had to be done. But after being enlightened I now look forward to each and every shave. Good luck to you.

Dollar Shave Club? Lord no. Once you get a DE razor, you can get 100 really good blades for around 10 bucks. That's about a year's worth of really good shaves. Don't torture your face with those plastic face shredders -- it's just not humane.
