    Default Straightrazor.com

    Hello everyone,

Im fairly new to the straight razor practice but have been actively shaving and researching for a couple months now. I'm getting ready to make a first purchase of a legit blade (i have a couple cheap Gold Dollar blades for practice).

My question fir the community is; What is your perspective on Straightzor.com? Can anyone give insight on their expeirence? I recently placed an order and did not receive what I ordered. The customer service has been a bit of a struggle as well. I'm curious if others have had a similar experience or if i need to be a little more patient with them.

    Thank in advance!

I haven't used them myself. When I need something straight razor related, my go-to is Straight Razor Designs. The fellow that started these forums owns that place, and he personally hones the blades to ensure that you will get a shave ready razor. I would steer you in that direction, rather than any other place because the quality service is definitely there with Lynn at SRD.

Good to know. Thank you so much for the response. I have been looking at his site...mainly because I want a Lewis razor but they seem to be a bit of a unicorn

They appear to be the Grim Blades/Blades Grim operation. Not very highly thought of here and certainly not a company I would recommend. From our library:

I might have misunderstood your post. Do you mean to say that straightrazor.com website is associated with grim blades?

Yes, I believe that they are. Although they have different websites, they are both located in Sandpoint, ID. I believe that straightrazor.com has also bought out Classic Shaving, Vintage Blades, and possibly others.

Oh man, I used to order from classic shaving. Guess I'll stick to srd & west coast from now on.

My first online straight razor purchase was form Classic Shaving, back when it was operated by Ray Dupont and honing was done by Lynn.

    How times have changed.
