    Default Shaving Brush

Im not a beginner I have been doing this since about 2001 I don't spend countless hours researching this stuff but I have sharpened and shaved with countless different straight razors, I use disposable safety razors cut in half now in a cheap straight razor deal. Anyway I need a brush a stiff one I don't want to spend alot of money aka around 10 bucks what's the recommendations. thanks who understand I don't want to make a carrier out of researching stuff on here. just a quick recommendation stiff good brush for around 10 my last one blew up on me.

    Hi Daniel.

I've never used one but many say a boar brush is very stiff.

Omega boar brushes can be stiff and low cost, but that pro model is not stuff. I have one and find it floppy. Loosely put together knot. Not dence bristles at all. Look up the Omega boat brushes and pick something with a handle about the size you like to use and go with that. But remember one thing. Low cost means low quality most the time. Good luck. You dont have to spend 200 on a brush to get a good one, but 10 bucks isnt going to get you much.

I'd recommend an Omega 10066 boar brush. Just give it about 2 weeks of daily use to break in fully for the tips to really soften up. Don't worry it will still have plenty of back bone regardless of the tips softening up when broke in.

Boar is definitely the way to go for stiff and luckily boar brushes are cheaper. Any of the Omega boars will probably be good. If you can find one, a VDH boar brush is cheap and the one I have is very stiff

My Omega Pro is plenty stiff. $8.00 a while back.

I use it every Saturday with Czech & Speake.

To break it in I wore out a new puck of Williams by doing palm lathers. Took about 60 min.
