Question Has anyone noticed the different noises different razors make?

I have just picked up a Revisor Solingen 5/8 new old stock off ebay. I have given it a quick pyramid hone on a Norton 4000/8000 followed by a strop on both the linen and leather side of my strop.

Just had a shave with it, and because of the nose it was making, I thought it was not shaving very well, when in fact it has given me a great, smooth and really close shave with just two passes. I just found this really strange that the blade seemed to amplify the shaving sound, has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, it seems like the more hollow ground the blade, the louder it is.

Depending on the grind every razor makes a slightly different sound. Wedges make almost none and give you no feedback and the hollow grinds give more. Its that really thin edge. It really talks to you when you shave.

True. My full hollow is quite talkative and my wedge and quarter wedges are much more quiet. They each sound different for sure. BTW my Gem Single edge 1912 safety razor is probably my loudest razor.
    Enjoy the melodies

I have a 6/8" square point Mozart (Steinbruck and Drucks) and it is the thinnest blade I have. When I shave with it, I was expecting the high pitched "plink-plink-plink", like my other extra hollows. Nuh-uh. It was more muted like the wapi's. It was crazy sharp though and gave a great shave.

It was an early ebay purchase, so by the time I got around to honing it up, I thought I wasn't going to like it. I was sooo wrong.
