Every 4 to 5. If I shave before 4 days or so, I get really bad razor burn. Go figure.
I have a lot of blond and gray in my beard, though, so I never really look scruffy that quickly.
Every day shaver
Every day unless ill or possibly dead.
Bob
Same frequency here, and the longer I go between shaves the better results I get. Too bad I’m not that patient though. :p
Not possible to shave every day! If I shave, than I take my time and the shave is so efficient, that you barely can feel some stubbles coming up the next day, you won't see anything until day two. So for a following really efficient and comfortable shave it takes at least three days.
Regards Peter
Agreed - I've been using a DE a couple of times the last few months, and later that day, can feel the stubble.
With a straight, a good 3 pass shave, skin feels sublime after, nothing appears on my face for two days but the start of some stubble.
Can't compare the shave of a straight in my opinion, nothing like it.
Interestingly, 7 years later, I was having a shave, and the thought occurred to me how cool it was to have developed and learned the skill to shave with a straight razor. It's still something you don't hear about often, maybe it's just the time factor and that I take it for granted now, but looking in the mirror, holding a large "cut throat" razor, made me think that, what a cool skill to have! :-)
Daily. No matter how close my shave or how many passes, I still look like Homer Simpson the next day.
Every two days.
I can get away with a straight razor shave every two days. If I shave in the morning, I can start to feel the stubble the next afternoon. When I choose not to rush in the morning, I shave the night before and feel good for the next 18 hours.
Daily. Unless its my weekend and im too busy.
When i started with a straight it was every day. I found i had irritation often. Then i started shaving every two days. It helped a lot. I found shaving two days growth was much more satisfying and it was so much easier on my face.
Then about a year ago i deciede that my razors are so smooth now as my honing has gotten so much better, and the fact that ive learned how to properly shave, i started every day shaving. Unless im too busy. I enjoy it more and have no issues.
My wife thinks that my whiskers are growing faster. I couldnt agree but maybe. I am over 50 so i dont think its a case of puberty again. Lol.
Every day.
A missed shave is a shave that you can never get back!
Every day or two is what keeps me looking well groomed. I shave in the evening and some eve
Nings there is a lot going on. I have not been able to shave for over two weeks because of a hand injury and I got want to learn to shave with one hand while my one hand is in a splint. I am seriously looking forward to Wednesday nights shave.
On the average every 3 days. It was every other day when I still worked.
Before retirement every day, now it’s when I feel like it and I’ve taken to only shaving my neck , beard coming out, grow a pony tail and become ZZ Top
Another everyday guy here.
5-7 depending on my mood...usually one with a SR and 5-6 with either a DE or SE.
Before retirement, I shaved every workday, but would skip the days off along with any vacation times. I always grew a full beard during vacations and at the end play with trimming different styles of beards as beards weren't allowed by the company I worked for.
I found that I liked the goatee style so when I retired that's what I sport.
Since retiring I've come to only shave every few days or just for shites and giggles.
TC! You've got plenty of time to grow that pony tail before the 2021 TX Meet--then I won't be the only 'Hippie' there--:roflmao:rofl2::tu
Once every 3 days, give or take. Over the road trucker, I just don't get the chance to get a good shave every day. Hence, the practice in the truck.
Looks like 2022 now and yes, I’ve spent years being the oilfield hand, but my roots are old school biker so that’s what I am, sitting out front smoking a cigar or maybe something a little more 1970 style and sipping my bourbon. Me and you are just 2old hippies. Plus my part time job doesn’t care how much hair I grow!
And by the way truckers have more time to shave than I did so that’s no excuse. Just do it. I’m going old hippie but got to trim the neck and lines.
Hey mountain man you hearing this? Next time we meet we,ll be the same!
2-3 times per week.
Yep, my sentiments exactly. Every day unless I want to test a razor I have restored and then I may skip a day. My beard grows so fast that if I have a special occasion where I have to look cleaned up at night I'll shave twice that day. My people have those wooly northwestern European genes. My son can grow a beard in 2 weeks that looks like he hasn't shaved in a year. Of course he has that course carrot top viking red hair.
Sunday with a straight before Monday work.
Mon. - Thurs DE. Some test passes with a straight if I'm working on an edge.
No Friday shaves unless I need to go to court.
No Saturday shaves ever.
On vacation I'll let it go till it bugs me. Then the straight comes out to plow through the growth.
2-3 times a week. Years ago I tried every day, but after 2 weeks it became another chore. Not good. Every other day was just about right, something to look forward to. I've slacked off a little lately.
I usually shave Mon, Wed, Sat, but been slacking off lately doing other hobbies at night and just shaving on Saturdays.
I shave every 72 hours or so. Gives time to let the whiskers grow out a little bit.
While I'm new to straight shaving, I seem to be getting a wonderful shave. Funny though, guys at work question this because I have a full beard. But cleaning up the cheeks and neck, along with having tattoos and thick arm/chest hair I have enough cultivating to do every to every other day.
Actually got a chance to have a leisurely shave today in the locker room at one of our distribution centers in Wisconsin. As I was going for the first stroke on my right cheek, I hear:
Whoa! Old school.
.....I like it.
(Another driver walking by)
Don't forget to wave as you pass by!
Every day, except occasionally I'll skip a Saturday.
I shave daily for work, but not on weekends, (our weekends being Friday and Saturday).
During Friday morning, I can tell the time, to within 30 minutes or so, by checking the stubble on my face.
Every day for about 40 years. Now it's every other day. Started well with a cutthroat during Covid 19 house arrest, degenerated to a beard, which will go when I start back at work. Or much sooner, if my wife has anything to do with it.
Every Day for me , a mixture of Straights and DE.
I shave everyday, 4 passes.
I don't get sore and my face and neck are smooth enough to make a babies bum jealous.
It takes me about 45 minutes to have a shave which is fine because I really love shaving, wish it would grow faster so I could do it twice a day.
I shave every day, I am pretty new to straight razors, but find my skin remains in good shape and comfortable. I could never go against the grain on my neck with a DE without getting bumps , with a straight it is no problem.
When I started shaving with a straight it was every day 3 passes. Like clockwork. Since then I’ve mellowed to a nice one pass shave with a well honed razor (doesn’t leave any whiskers) whenever I need/feel like it. I’ll go through phases of every day shaving some weeks and others it’s 2 weeks or 2 months. Really depends what kind of facial hair I what to sport. Can’t express the joy of shaving off a nice thick beard!
Every two to three days, or twice weekly
