Default Greetings and questions re: grinds, blades, thoughts

First of all. Howdy from Houston.

Second. I am the new owner of a Feather Professional. I have super Professional and Pro Guard Blades.

Third. After reading some reviews and hearing it is a silent shaver, I am feeling the anxiety.

    Fourth.
After seeing this video, it got me to thinking.
Should I look into another razor as well. I am new to wetshaving, having been using a DE for about 4 months and loving ever minute of it. The allure of straight is growing. Any idea as to what razor is in the video? How do you tell how much "hollow ground" is it? What is preferable?

Fifth. With DE, I have built up to 4+ passes, with a straight I am hoping this will drop down to 1+ . Am I correct in my assumptions?

Welcome, I took a shot at your questions on B&B (yeah, I'm a slacker at work today). Not a complete answer by any means, but we have a great many folks with a lot of knowlege here at SRP. I'm sure you'll get good info.

I was able to view the video off this link, and I'd guess its a Dovo full hollow. I'm not sure of the specific model. You can view a bunch of them at classic shaving.com or vintagebladesllc.com.

I will add, at some point you may want to try the different grinds, but you can't go wrong starting off with a full hollow.

Hmm a full hollow. I like the feedback. I was curious about that.

Ulf admits the Dovo in the comments... just not which one. the strop is a loom strop... Lynn shows one in his DVD, and i think he sells some ... but they might just be parts of sets.
the maestro uses the in his DVD's as well
