Default I am glad I got two

The popular advice is to start with one shave ready razor. Mostly due to my initial frustration from not being quick enough to win one at the B/S/T, I ended up getting two in a row early one Saturday morning, when, I guess, most of the younger newbies were still recovering from partying Friday night. I suppose there is an advantage to being... not so young.

I have been shaving with these two ever since, and I am just amazed at how different they are. With the 5/8 Henckel's hollow ground, I hear and feel the whiskers getting sliced. It dances across my face precisely like an ice skater, whereas the thick chunk of Sheffield steel goes more like a zamboni. Well, not really a great analogy, but you get my point.

Anyway, if you have one, I strongly suggest getting the other, if only to experience the difference.

I know there are different points to try, but I am pretty sure I will bloody myself with anything other than a rounded point at this time. Are there any other radically different types of straights?
