    Default An Intro

Hi, my name is Bob and I have RAD! and my wife may be getting mad!

Of course since she likes the smooth shave and my DE is 100X better than an M3, and a straight is said to be better than that she may not mind.

Since Ive been looking around this board and reading and finding out about these ancient things called Straights, and you all post pictures of such gorgeous blades how could a person not want to get mixed up with this?

Going through the newbie section told me alot of what to look for and what to stay away from, thank God I found this site before ordering that Z.....(shudders at the thought) thing. I have acquired two razors from ebite, one a Bengall, it has what I believe to be chipped horn scales, the other is an AW Wadsworth with a broken set of scales. Can you say "Restore". Now I need more tools
Since I knew better than to even attempt to get these any where near my face I decided to rescale them first. I will try to get pictures up in the restore area tonight.
I just wanted to say hi and let you all to know this RAD is your fault and as they say "if ya cant beat'em Join'em"

Welcome to the board!, Since you have been DE shaving you know about the AD's that are lurking out there, I know I have most of them already so I feel your pain...

Only got one straight carbon steel straight and one strop. Thiking of ordering a stainless steel one. I can rationalize that one simply because the stainless is what I probably needed to be gin with but was too cheap to get one to begin with. Although I can feel your pain with the safety razors, there is ten of them, and two brushes. So it has not gotten too bad as yet. I think that everyone here can feel your pain when it comes to acquisition disorder.

Since Ive started restoring the two I have, every time I look at ebay I see what they can look like instead of what they are. It feels good, as others here have said, to take a junk pile and return it to use. Who knows maybe someday there will be a 12 step process for this
