Arkansas Razor Hone: Bowman Beauty & Barber Supply good or bad i just bought one
I guess you'll find out.
If you already bought it you don't want to hear my opinion.
i would really like to know how bad i screwed up
Does it say 'punjab' on the side? As in pakistan?
Where are zeepk razors made?
I'd have gone with a norton.....
no clue yet i ordered it. yea i know that the first dumb mistake. but my budget is real tight right now and all of the hones i have for my knives are to rough the finest i have is 1000grit and that will not work. i would muck rather have the norton. just hoping that thing will do until i can get what i really wannt.
has anyone in here ever owned or used one of these before?
no but you can get a decent barbers hone for 15 to 25 dollars
If it is actually a pair of Arkansas stones glued together, the price isn't out of line, but it would be a hard white bonded to a soft arkansas as they can be grey.
The hard white is roughly 1200 grit and won't cuts very slowly. There may be guys who have put a shaving edge on a razor with one of these, but i don't know any, and though the edge would cut hair it wouldn't be comfortable at all.
The soft Arkansas is rougher and only suitable for rough sharpening knives.
I use this combination on many of my knives, the grey to give an edge and the white to finish it, but its just way to rough for razors.
I've got a couple of links to budjet stones, I'll find and post.
