    Default Hello from a newbie

    Hi everyone.

I have registered here, having decided to try again with a DE razor after a disastrous attempt a couple of years ago.

I have very tough stubble and very soft skin, not a great combination, and one which makes electrics useless. As a result, I have spent a fortune over the years trying all the new razor blades we get suckered into buying. I'm hoping a good quality DE razor and blade combination will do the trick and save me some dosh.

This place has already been a great source of info, so I must say thanks for that.

Welcome and I hope you end up with better results this time.

I have always found that less pressure is better when shaving with the DE.

    Good Luck

    Lynn

What was disastrous about your prior DE experience? What's going to be different this time?

Cheap no-brand razor and blades, no patience and no technique probably sums it up.

A decent quality razor and recommended blades, practice, and a well-researched technique are what are going to be different this time.

    Welcome to SRP!
Good luck with your venture back into DE shaving. I am sure your research and reading on the various fora have given you a much better idea about technique; you will do well this time.
