Default Step brother has SR, funny story.

I was talking to my step-brother and come to find out he has a whole SR set-up brush, strop razor, soap. I asked him how he liked it. And was brimming with many questions about the craft. He chuckled and said "coulden't tell ya. I lathered up when I first got it stood looking in the mirror for about 5 minutes and finally said, NO." About a year later he did the same thing and said, NO. Apparently he's afraid that he would completly slice his face open and can't bring himself to even take a stroke. I asked what kind of razor it was he said "a nice german made one that starts with an S." He got it a few years ago from an old girlfriend who went to her barber friend and asked what the good stuf was to get. He said the whole set-up cost her pretty penny. Now it's just sitting there wanting to be used. I told him when I learn I'll show him how. He said "mabey then but I doubt it." Perhaps soon he will be willing to loan it to me HA HA.

Cool . If you demonstrate him that it's actually not that scary he may go for it.
The other day I did a little demo for the maintenance guy. He was fixing stuff and saw my razors and initially told me I'm crazy to use them as they are so dangerous. I told him it's not a big deal and then he wanted to see me do it and now he wants me to get him a razor and a strop

Hey, what's a little blood shared among brothers in blades?? Tell him not to worry. He is going to nick himself. Just get over it and take the plunge. I don't have the steadiest of hands and only occasional get a little nick now. And that's after only a month. Recommend Lynn's CD to him. It might help him a little. It's been worth its weight in gold to me...

Let's hope the blade didn't start oxidizing over the years...
It will probably be a Solingen blade... many people think it's a brandname.

My brother expressed an interest when I told him I'd started using an SR, but after he saw it in action, quickly lost it.
