    Default First Shave

Today I had my first straight razor shave. No cuts or gouges, but the blade was hesitant and not slicing hair like I thought it should. I guess I'll review all the instructionals again for honing and stropping. I'm sure I'll be a blood brother soon enough, though!

Since my first is not so distant a memory...lol, I can say that I remember feeling the exact same way. By the fourth or fifth shave, it will feel great, the best you've ever felt a shave.

Don't rightly know. Bought it in an antique shop in my hometown when I was home for my sister's birthday. Had a keen edge at the time, but not keen enough to shave with then.

The tang of the razor says "John S. Holler & Co"

    Thanks for the imput!
