Well.. this is a little story of how I went from cardridge shaving with gel to straightrazor(well I'll get my razor this weekend) and soap.

I wasnt to happy with the shaving results with the gel so I decided to try shaving oil. This worked quite well except that the cardridges got clogged up after one or two shaves. I used wilkinsons quatro so I first tried another cardrigde with less blades but that didn't seem to do the job. I used double edge razor blades to clean the aquarium so I decided to get a safety razor at an online store.. I was a bit surprised I couldnt just buy one in the local stores.

So far so good.. after a couple of shaves with the double edge razors(and having fun with it) the results where better than the cardridge but I thought the results could even be better with a straight razor. but I would feel a bit safer with normal lather in stead of the oil.

I ordered a dovo shavette which I will get tomorow, Today I got a brush (never used one) and a bar of soap. I used the soap but I still need to work on my lather skills.

When I get the hang of the straight razor I will probably buy another one replace the brush with a badgerhair one. but I think this a nice set to start with..

It doesn't realy make sense but the thing I like about "old fashioned" shaving is that it takes a bit more time. It may sound pretty selfish but it is time that i dont spend on my family, work or the rest of the world. Just me, my razor, soap and some water.
