Problem with my blade
I bought a used razor from the classifieds area on this web site. It is a nice vintage razor and it shaved great right out of the mail box.
A few weeks later, I decided to send the razor to a professional sharpener (one that deals with knives and razors for businesses) in NYC, to get a nice clean new edge on the blade.
When it came back, it was NOT the same blade! It is so bad, that I still use the disposable razor I bought to try shaving with a straight edge.
What can I do? Is is me or the razor?!

It sounds like whoever honed it didn't know what they were doing. You could send it to one of the guys on the site here who'd probably put it right in a very satisfactory way. Welcome to the forum by the way.

I've heard from others than knife sharpeners don't know how to sharpen razors.
"Razor" sharp kitchen knives are sharp. Just not as sharp as a razor. They don't know any better.

Most knives men do not know how to hone a razor. Some even use a belt grinder and overheat the steel. In which case you'll never shave with her again.
