I wipe during the shave, which gives me a chance to see the whiskers in the lather. Then rinse and dry afterward with a light coat of baby oil on the blade until it comes back up in the rotation.

often thought of draping a towel over my arm and just wiping the razor...
then thought how much the wife would like seeing those towels filled with shaving soap and whiskers..
I rinse :) we'll see how camping goes this summer
I just tried using a small plastic squirty bottle to rinse lather off the blade. It's safer than going under the tap and more effective than dunking the blade in still water. And a little less messy than wiping on a towel.
I give the squirty bottle 2x :tu:tu
rinse then dry and apply oil to prevent waterspots
Wipe on palm of hand during shave. A hot water rinse and dry after shave.
I wipe during the shave with my finger (very carefully) and I rinse.. after the shave I rinse, whipe dry, "strop" on a towel and I'm done.
I used to wipe when i first started, but never liked the mess & was rinsing within a couple of weeks. There's a risk i guess, but it's calculated & that's the way i like to do it.
I'm going away on a trip this weekend to a resort in Phuket. Because they won't be my towels I don't have to worry about keeping them clean. I intend to give wiping a try for a change. But once I get back home I will have to go back to rinsing.
